North Carolina Reaffirms Role as National Leader in Accountability

North Carolina Reaffirms Role as National Leader in Accountability

September 7, 2017

Today, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction released A-F grades for schools across the state, reaffirming the state’s role as a national leader committed to accountability that helps students succeed.

North Carolina’s transparent school grading system easily identifies schools that are succeeding and improving, creating urgency to assist schools that are not. With the A-F school grading system, every North Carolina parent, teacher, school administrator and community member can take part in improving their schools and raising expectations for student achievement.

By clearly indicating where schools are succeeding and where concentrated attention is needed, North Carolina students are already seeing better outcomes. We applaud North Carolina for the steps it has taken to weave high standards and accountability into the fabric of public education.Sincerely,
